Thorigné is a commune Déléguée in the French community Aigondigné with 1,261 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The inhabitants are called Thorignéens .

The municipality of Thorigné merged with Mougon to form the Commune nouvelle Mougon-Thorigné on January 1, 2017 , which in turn merged with other municipalities to form the Commune nouvelle Aigondigné on January 1, 2019. Thorigné has had the status of a Commune déléguée since January 1, 2017. The municipality of Thorigné belonged to the Arrondissement Niort and the canton of Celles-sur-Belle .

geography

Thorigné is located about 16 kilometers east-southeast of Niort on the Lambon , which formed the northern municipal boundary. The municipality of Thorigné was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Aigonnay in the north, Prailles in the northeast, Beaussais-Vitré in the east, Celles-sur-Belle in the east and southeast, Sainte-Blandine in the south and Mougon in the west.
