Prailles is a commune Déléguée in the French community Prailles-La Couarde with 676 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The inhabitants are called Praillais .
On January 1, 2019, the municipality of Prailles merged with La Couarde to form the Commune nouvelle Prailles-La Couarde. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of Prailles belonged to the Arrondissement of Niort and the canton of Celles-sur-Belle .
geography
Prailles is about 16 kilometers east-southeast of Niort . The Lambon borders the Commune déléguée in the south. The municipality of Prailles was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Romans in the north and northwest, Souvigné in the north and northeast, La Couarde in the east, Beaussais-Vitré in the south and southeast, Mougon-Thorigné in the southwest and Aigonnay in the west.
