Vanzay is located in the historic Poitou countryside , about 43 kilometers southwest of the city of Poitiers . Neighboring communities in Deux-Sèvres are Messé in the north, Sainte-Soline and Pers in the west and Caunay in the south. At the same time, the border with the Vienne department runs east .
