La Rochénard is a French municipality with 583 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Niort and the canton of Mignon-et-Boutonne (until 2015 Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon ). The inhabitants are called Rochénardais .

La Rochénard is about 60 kilometers east of La Rochelle and about 18 kilometers southwest of Niort . La Rochénard is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Épannes in the north, Vallans in the north and northeast, La Foye-Monjault in the east and southeast, Val-du-Mignon with Usseau in the south, Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon in the west and Prin-Deyrançon in the Northwest.
