Bougon is a French municipality with 177 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Niort and the canton of Celles-sur-Belle (until 2015 La-Mothe-Saint-Héray ). The inhabitants are called bougonnais .

Bougon is about 42 kilometers southwest of Poitiers . Bougon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pamproux in the north, Avon in the east, Exoudun in the south, La Mothe-Saint-Héray in the west and Salles in the west and northwest.
