Sainte-Ouenne is a French municipality with 805 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Niort and the canton of Autize-Égray (until 2015: canton of Champdeniers-Saint-Denis ). The inhabitants are called Sainte-Ouennais .

Sainte-Ouenne is about twelve kilometers north of Niort . Sainte-Ouenne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cours in the north, Germond-Rouvre in the east, Échiré in the south-east, Saint-Maxire in the south, Faye-sur-Ardin in the west and south-west and Surin in the west and north-west.

The A83 autoroute runs through the municipality .
