Alain Duschène
Alain Duschène (born March 19, 1960 in Esch an der Alzette ) is a Luxembourg officer. Since September 30, 2017 he has been Chief of the General Staff of the Luxembourg Armed Forces and thus their military commander .
Life
After completing his school education, Alain Duschène joined the Luxembourg Army in 1979.
The general is married and has two daughters.
Military career
In 1984 Alain Duschène finished his officer training at the École Royale Militaire in Brussels. This was followed by assignments in the infantry troops of the Luxembourg armed forces at home and abroad, as well as various further training courses at military schools.
In 1998 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and was responsible for personnel and public relations at the headquarters of the Luxembourg armed forces. In March 2008, he was promoted to colonel and took over the post of deputy chief of the general staff.
On September 30, 2017, he was promoted to General (OF-6) , succeeding Romain Mancinelli as military commander of the Luxembourg Armed Forces.
