Romain Mancinelli (2015)

Romain Mancinelli (born June 19, 1959 ) is a former Luxembourg officer who was Chief of the General Staff of the Luxembourg Armed Forces from 2014 to 2017 and thus their military commander .

Life

After completing his school education, Romain Mancinelli joined the Luxembourg Army on August 16, 1978.

The general is married and has two daughters.

Military career

In 1982 Romain Mancinelli finished his officer training at the École Royale Militaire in Brussels. This was followed by assignments in the infantry troops of the Luxembourg armed forces at home and abroad, as well as various further training courses at military schools.

As the successor to Gaston Reinig , Mancinelli took over the post of commander of Luxembourg's only military base in Diekirch in January 2008 . On December 1, 2014 he was promoted to General (OF-6) and succeeded Mario Daubenfeld as military commander of the Luxembourg armed forces. He held this office for around three years until he was replaced by Alain Duschène at the end of September 2017 .
