Rajmund Andrzejczak (born December 29, 1967 in Świdnica ) is a Polish officer in the rank of general . He has been the military commander of the Polish armed forces since July 2018 .

Life

Military career

Promotions

Andrzejczak began his military career with the 2nd Infantry Regiment in Giżycko . From 2001 to 2003 he was deputy commander of the joint Lithuanian-Polish battalion (LITPOLBAT). From 2008 to 2010 he was deputy commander of the 34th Cavalry Brigade in Żagań . Between 2010 and 2012 he was Deputy Chief of Staff of the 2nd Corps in Krakow . In this post, he was promoted to Brigadier General in 2011 .

As a general, he took command of the 17th Mechanized Brigade in Międzyrzecz in 2012 . In 2014 Andrzejczak was transferred to the 12th Mechanized Division in Szczecin , where he initially worked as chief of staff. Two years later, he was named division commander and promoted to division general.

On July 2, 2018, Andrzejczak was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Armed Forces and promoted to weapons general. He followed Leszek Surawski , who had been in office for less than 18 months. On November 12, 2019, he was promoted to the rank of four-star general.

Private

Rajmund Andrzejczak is married. He and his wife have two children.
