Konstantinos Floros (born June 24, 1961 in Chalkis / Euboea ) is a Greek officer with the rank of general . Since January 17, 2020 he has been Chief of Staff of the Greek Armed Forces and thus their highest military commander.

career

Since 1979 Flores attended the Greek Military Academy and graduated in 1983 as an infantry lieutenant. He then initially served at the non-commissioned school. In 1986 he switched to the special forces and served them in various positions over the next few years. In 2005, Flores moved to Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe as representative of Greece . After completing his postgraduate studies in Greece, he moved to the Greek General Staff in 2009. Two years later he became chief of staff of the 16th Infantry Division.

Promoted to the rank of general, he took over command of a brigade of Greek special forces in 2012. In 2014 he was transferred to the staff of the Greek Army . A year later, promoted to major general, he was transferred to the staff of the armed forces. There he took on various tasks over the next few years. As a lieutenant general , he took command of the 1st Greek Army in January 2019. A year later, he was promoted to the rank of four-star general and appointed Chief of Staff of the Greek Armed Forces.

Private

Konstantinos Floros is married and has two daughters. In addition to his mother tongue, he is also fluent in English.
