Ensigné is a French municipality with 286 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Niort and the canton of Mignon-et-Boutonne ( Brioux-sur-Boutonne until 2015 ).

Ensigné is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Villefollet in the north, Juillé in the north and northeast, Asnières-en-Poitou in the east and northeast, Saint-Mandé-sur-Brédoire in the south and southwest, La Villedieu in the west and southwest and Villiers-sur-Chizé in the west and northwest.
