Valdelaume is a French municipality with 852 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Niort and the Canton of Melle .

It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2019 by amalgamating the previous municipalities of Hanc , Ardilleux , Bouin and Pioussay , which were not granted the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are located in Hanc.

geography

The community is located around 45 kilometers southeast of Niort . The river Aume , a tributary of the Charente, has its source in the municipality . Neighboring municipalities are: Melleran in the north, Lorigné in the northeast, La Forêt-de-Tessé in the east, Theil-Rabier in the southeast, Paizay-Naudouin-Embourie in the south, Loubillé in the southwest, Loubigné in the west, and Chef-Boutonne and Alloinay in the northwest .
