It belongs to the Arrondissement of Niort and is part of the canton of Mignon-et-Boutonne ( Brioux-sur-Boutonne until 2015 ).

Luché-sur-Brioux is about 45 kilometers southeast of Niort . Luché-sur-Brioux is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Lusseray in the north and west, Tillou in the northeast, Fontenille-Saint-Martin-d'Entraigues in the east and Chérigné in the south and southwest.
