Beugnon-Thireuil is a French municipality with 726 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Niort and the Canton of Autize-Égray .

It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2019 by merging the previous municipalities of Le Beugnon and La Chapelle-Thireuil , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in La Chapelle-Thireuil.

geography

The community is located around 28 kilometers northwest of Niort . It is crossed by the Saumort River , a tributary of the Autise . Neighboring municipalities are: Vernoux-en-Gâtine in the north, Secondigny in the northeast, Fenioux in the southeast, Puihardy in the south, Saint-Laurs in the southwest, Le Busseau in the west and Scillé in the northwest.
