Vernoux-en-Gâtine is located about 20 kilometers west of Parthenay on the Sèvre Nantaise river and is surrounded by the neighboring communities Largeasse in the north, Trayes in the north and northeast, Neuvy-Bouin in the northeast, Secondigny in the east, Le Beugnon in the south and southeast, La Chapelle-Thireuil in the south and south-west, Scillé in the south-west and L'Absie in the west and north-west.
