Viennay is a French commune with 1,104 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ). The municipality belongs to the Parthenay arrondissement and the Parthenay canton .
geography
Viennay is about four kilometers north of Parthenay . Viennay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lageon in the north, Gourgé in the east, La Peyratte in the southeast, Châtillon-sur-Thouet in the south and west and Amailloux in the west.
Route nationale 149 runs along the western edge of the municipality .
