Pougne-Hérisson is a French municipality with 370 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Arrondissement Parthenay and the canton of La Gâtine .

The municipality is located around 40 kilometers north of Niort and 60 kilometers west of Poitiers in the Gâtine countryside . Neighboring municipalities to Pougne-Hérisson are:

The municipality consists of the two main towns Pougne and Hérisson , which are about three kilometers apart. The Ruisseau des Arcis flows on the western boundary of the municipality, which takes the name Palais south of Pougne and strives towards the Thouet river in an easterly direction .

The community is located away from national traffic routes. Local transport links are provided by the D140 département road, which runs from Parthenay via Pougne-Hérisson to Moncoutant .
