Mazières-en-Gâtine is a French commune with 1,011 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Arrondissement Parthenay and the canton of La Gâtine (until 2015: canton of Mazières-en-Gâtine ). The inhabitants are called Mazièrois .
geography
Mazières-en-Gâtine is about 14 kilometers south-southwest of Parthenay and 25 kilometers north-northeast of Niort . Mazières-en-Gâtine is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Pardoux-Soutiers in the north, Vouhé in the northeast, Verruyes in the east, La Chapelle-Bâton in the south, Champdeniers in the southwest and Saint-Marc-la-Lande in the west.
