César Olivera , full name César Aníbal Olivera Angellini , (born February 25, 1964 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan football player and current coach.
Career
Player activity
Goalkeeper Olivera was at the beginning of his career from 1979 to the end of 1983 of the reserve team (Formativas) of Club Atlético Peñarol . At the "Aurinegros" he was first Uruguayan champion with the junior team and in 1982 also belonged to the professional team that won the national championship. He then worked for Club Sportivo Cerrito until the end of 1985 . 1986 followed a career station at Club Atlético Basáñez . From 1987 to 1996 he played in the Liga Rochense de Fútbol and for the Departamento selection of Rocha . During this career phase he won the Eastern Championship four times and was twice runner-up in the competition for the Uruguayan inland championship played by the OFI . In 1996, Olivera was named Rocha's "Sportsman of the Year" in football and also received the "Balón de Oro" award for the best inland goalkeeper. From 1997 to the end of 1999 the Colón Fútbol Club was his employer. At the beginning of 2000 he joined Rocha FC until mid-2003 . There Olivera was a member of the team of Rocha FC, which completed the first professional game of the club in the Primera División on February 18, 2000 at the Estadio Luis Tróccoli in Montevideo against Racing . In the course of the season he was also used at least in the game against Nacional Montevideo (April 15, 2000). Olivera then joined the Palermo Fútbol Club until 2006 .
Coaching career
After his active career, Olivera started a coaching career. First he coached the offspring of the Palermo Fútbol Club in 2006 and became champion with the U-18s. As coach of the Rocha departmental selection, he won the Eastern Championship that year and was then responsible for all the department's national teams in all age categories in the Rochense de Fútbol league in 2007. In the same year he also won the championship in Apertura , Clausura and Liguilla with the U-15 as a coach of the youth teams of the Palermo Fútbol Club . He also looked after the men's team in the Primera Division at OFI level. Also in 2007 he was named Trainer of the Year of the East ( Mejor Entrenador del Este ). In January 2008 he accepted an engagement as an assistant coach at River Plate in Montevideo. He held this position until January 6, 2009, when he was signed by Rocha FC as head coach. On April 27 of that year, Olivera and the club separated. This was followed by two career stations in the coaching staff of Juan Ramón Carrascos as goalkeeping coach from the end of December 2011 to mid-June 2012 at Athletico Paranaense and from mid-September to the end of November 2012 at Danubio FC . From January 28, 2013 to May 7 of the same year, he worked again on the head coach position of Rocha FC. On June 23, 2015, River Plate gave him the goalkeeping coaching role. This activity ended on September 26, 2016.
