geography

The municipality is located on the Thouet River immediately southwest of Parthenay . Le Tallud is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Aubin-le-Cloud in the north, Châtillon-sur-Thouet in the northeast, Parthenay in the east, Pompaire in the east and southeast, Saint-Pardoux-Soutiers in the south and Azay-sur-Thouet in the west .

The former National Route 149bis runs through the municipality .
