Irais is about 30 kilometers east-northeast of Bressuire and about 28 kilometers north-northeast of Parthenay . Irais is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Oiron in the north, Saint-Jouin-de-Marnes in the east, Airvault in the south, Availles-Thouarsais in the southwest and Saint-Généroux in the west.
