The Canton Airvault was 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement Parthenay , in Deux-Sevres and in the region of Poitou-Charentes ; its main place was Airvault . Dominique Paquereau ( EE ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Département from 2001 to 2015 .
The canton Airvault was 153.77 km² and had 5,056 inhabitants ( as of 1999 ), which corresponded to a population density of 33 inhabitants per km². It was on average at 117 meters above sea level , between 51 meters in Saint-Jouin-de-Marnes and 164 meters in Boussais .
