Marnes is about 36 kilometers east of Bressuire and about 28 kilometers northeast of Parthenay on the River Dive . Marnes is surrounded by the neighboring communities Moncontour in the north and south, Saint-Jean-de-Sauves in the east, La Grimaudière in the south and south-east, Airvault in the west and south-west and Saint-Jouin-de-Marnes in the west.
