navigability
- Canal de la Vieille Autise
It essentially consists of the canalised estuary Vieille Autise. It is 10 kilometers long and extends from its confluence with the Sèvre Niortaise near La Barbée to a small harbor basin in the village of Courdault . The only lock Saint-Arnaud measures 31.50 x 5.10 meters. The normal water depth is 1.20 meters, but it drops to 0.80 meters in summer when it is dry.
- Jeune Autise
The navigable section is around 9 kilometers long and extends from the confluence with the Sèvre Niortaise near Maillé to the harbor basin in the small village of Souil . Due to the small dimensions of the only lock, Maillé , 7 × 3 meters and a depth of 0.50 meters, the Jeune Autise can only be accessed by very small boats.
