Fontivillié is a French municipality with 861 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Niort and the Canton of Melle .
It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2019 by merging the previous municipalities of Chail and Sompt , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are located in Chail.
