Paizay-le-Chapt is a French municipality with 261 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Niort and the canton of Mignon-et-Boutonne (until 2015: canton of Brioux-sur-Boutonne ).

Paizay-le-Chapt is about 34 kilometers southeast of Niort . Paizay-le-Chapt is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chérigné in the north, Fontenille-Saint-Martin-d'Entraigues in the northeast, Crézières in the east, Aubigné in the south and southeast, Vinax in the south and southwest and Asnières-en-Poitou in the west.
