The inhabitants are called Vineaubourgeois .

Vinax is located about 79 kilometers east-southeast of La Rochelle in the Saintonge . Vinax is surrounded by the neighboring communities Asnières-en-Poitou in the north and north-west, Paizay-le-Chapt in the north and north-east, Aubigné in the east and north-east, Saleignes in the east and south-east, Les Éduts in the south, Néré in the south and south-west, Contré in the west and southwest and Saint-Mandé-sur-Brédoire in the west.
