The canton of Aulnay was 2015 a French constituency in the Charente-Maritime and in the former region Poitou-Charentes . It included 24 parishes in the arrondissement of Saint-Jean-d'Angély ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Aulnay . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015.

The canton of Aulnay was 33,388 hectares (333.88 km 2 ) and last had 6,477 inhabitants (as of 2012), which corresponded to a population density of around 20 inhabitants per km 2 . It was on average at 76  m , between 21  m in Nuaillé-sur-Boutonne and 173  m in Contré .
