The canton of Marans is a French canton in the department of Charente-Maritime and in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It includes 20 parishes in the La Rochelle arrondissement . As part of the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons, it was significantly expanded in spring 2015.

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the six municipalities of Andilly , Charron , Longèves , Marans , Saint-Ouen-d'Aunis and Villedoux belonged to the canton of Marans . Its layout corresponded to an area of ​​185.95 km ² . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 1713.
