The canton of Montlieu-la-Garde was 2015 a French constituency in the Charente-Maritime and in the former region Poitou-Charentes . It included 13 parishes in the arrondissement of Jonzac ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Montlieu-la-Garde . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015.
The canton of Montlieu-la-Garde was 21,888 hectares (218.88 km 2 ) and last had 6,813 inhabitants, which corresponded to a population density of around 31 inhabitants per km 2 (as of 2012). It was on average at 98 m , between 39 m in Bussac-Forêt and 154 m in Chevanceaux .
