Chepniers is a southwestern French community with 646 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Jonzac and the canton Les Trois Monts (until 2015 Montlieu-la-Garde ). The inhabitants are called Chepniacais .
location
Chepniers is located about 50 kilometers north-northeast of Bordeaux on the Livenne . Chepniers is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Jussas in the north and north-west, Polignac in the north and north-east, Sainte-Colombe and Pouillac in the north-east, Montlieu-la-Garde in the south and east, Bussac-Forêt in the south and south-west and Corignac in the west and south-west.
