Mortier is a French municipality with 186 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Jonzac and the canton of Jonzac . The inhabitants are called Mortiesains .
geography
Mortiers is about 70 kilometers north of Bordeaux . Mortiers is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Germain-de-Vibrac in the north, Saint-Maigrin in the east and northeast, Baignes-Sainte-Radegonde in the southeast, Léoville in the south and Saint-Médard in the west.
