La Clotte is a southwestern French community with 708 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Jonzac and the canton Les Trois Monts (until 2015 Montguyon ). The inhabitants are called Clottois .

location

La Clotte is located in the south of the Saintonge about 45 kilometers northeast of Bordeaux on the Lary . La Clotte is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Pierre-du-Palais in the north, Saint-Martin-de-Coux in the north and northeast, Chamadelle in the east, Lagorce in the south and Cercoux in the west.
