Archiac is a French community with about 800 inhabitants in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ; it belongs to the canton of Jonzac in the arrondissement of Jonzac and was the capital of the canton of Archiac until 2015 .
Archiac's neighboring municipalities are Saint-Palais-du-Né in the north, Saint-Eugène in the east, Arthenac in the south and Sainte-Lheurine in the west.

Attractions
- Parish Church of Saint-Pierre
- Partly restored tower remains of the castle from the 9th / 11th century, which was finally destroyed during the French Revolution. Century; the tower was used as a windmill in the 19th century , then received the crenellated wreath visible today around 1900 . (Private property, not accessible)
- Château Bernier from 1914 (private property, not accessible), near the castle destroyed during the French Revolution
