Cercoux is a southwestern French municipality with 1171 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Jonzac and the canton Les Trois Monts (until 2015: canton Montguyon ). The inhabitants are called Cercouziens .

location

Cercoux is located in the south of the Saintonge about 45 kilometers northeast of Bordeaux . Cercoux is surrounded by the neighboring communities Clérac in the north, Saint-Pierre-du-Palais in the north-east, La Clotte in the east, Lagorce in the south and south-east, Maransin in the south and Lapouyade in the west and south-west.
