La Génétouze is a French commune with 1,931 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of La Roche-sur-Yon and the canton of Aizenay (until 2015: canton Le Poiré-sur-Vie ). The inhabitants are called Genestosiens or Genétouziens .
geography
La Génétouze is about nine kilometers northwest of the city center of La Roche-sur-Yons . La Génétouze is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Poiré-sur-Vie in the north, Mouilleron-le-Captif in the east and south-east, Venansault in the south and south-west and Aizenay in the west.
