Mérignac is a southwestern French community with 224 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Jonzac and the canton Les Trois Monts (until 2015 Montlieu-la-Garde ). The inhabitants are called Mérignacais .
location
Mérignac is located about 60 kilometers north-northeast of Bordeaux on the Seugne . Mérignac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Messac in the north, Chantillac in the east, Le Pin in the south, Sousmoulins in the southwest and Pommiers-Moulons in the west.
