Bois is a French commune with 530 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Jonzac and the canton of Pons (until 2015: canton of Saint-Genis-de-Saintonge ). The inhabitants are called Boisiens .

geography

Bois is about 28 kilometers south of Saintes . Bois is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saint-Palais-de-Phiolin in the north, Saint-Genis-de-Saintonge in the east, Plassac in the south-east, Saint-Ciers-du-Taillon in the south, Lorignac in the south-west and Champagnolles in the west and north-west.

The A10 autoroute runs through the municipality .
