Szilárd Rokaly (born May 9, 1998 in Gheorgheni ) is a Romanian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HSC Csíkszereda in the MOL league since 2017 . His older brother Norbert is also a Romanian national player.

Career

Club

Szilárd Rokaly, who belongs to the Hungarian-speaking Szekler minority in Romania , began his career in the youth department of Progym Gheorgheni in his hometown of Transylvania. In 2013 he moved to HSC Csíkszereda , the traditional club of the Szekler, for which he played in both the Romanian and Hungarian U18 leagues. After two years there, he joined the Hungarian top club Alba Volán Székesfehérvár , for whose U20 team he plays in the Erste Bank Young Stars League . In the 2016/17 season he also made his first appearances in the second men's team of Alba Volán in the multinational MOL league . In 2017 he returned to HSC Csíkszereda in Miercurea Ciuc and plays with the club in the MOL league, with which he became Romanian champion and cup winner in 2018 .

International

Rokaly plays internationally in contrast to other Szeklers who compete for Hungary , for his native Romania . He was already active internationally in the junior sector: He made his debut at the U18 World Cup in 2014 in Division II, in which he also played in 2015 , when he was voted the best player of his team as the tournament's top scorer, and in 2016 .
