Ilja Četvertak (born July 7, 1997 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian ice hockey player who has been on the ice for the Niagara-on-the-Lake Icemen in the Greater Metro Hockey League since 2018 .

Player career

Ilja Četvertak began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of Vilnius PILDYK. From 2011 to 2013 he played for Vanvita Vilnius in the Lithuanian ice hockey league . From 2013 to 2015, Baltica and Zalgiris played Vilnius in the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja Liga B , but was also used by Hamburger SV in the Junior Bundesliga in the 2013/14 season . After spending the 2015/16 season at HK Zemgale in the Latvian ice hockey league , he returned to Lithuania, where he played for SC Energija in both the Belarusian Wysschaja Liga and the domestic league. In 2017 he made the leap to North America. There he first played for the Lake Tahe Icemen in the Western State Hockey League and since 2018 with the Niagara-on-the-Lake Icemen in the Greater Metro Hockey League.

International

In the junior division, Četvertak stood for Lithuania at the U18 World Championships in 2012 , 2013 and 2014 in Division II and in 2015 , when he was the best player in his team, in Division I and the U20 World Championships in 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 and 2017 , when he, as the best preparer and second-best scorer behind his compatriot Emilijus Krakauskas, made a significant contribution to the Baltic's ascent to Division I and was also voted the best player in his team, each in Division II on the ice.

He made his debut in the men's national team at the 2016 World Cup in Division I, where he also played in 2017 and 2018 . He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 and in the Baltic Cup in 2016 and 2017.
