Emilijus Krakauskas (born July 11, 1997 in Kretinga ) is a Lithuanian ice hockey player who has been on the ice with EHC Kloten in the Swiss League , the second highest Swiss division, since May 2018 .

Player career

Emilijus Krakauskas began his career as an ice hockey player with the Lithuanian club Skatas . In 2011/12 he played in the youth division of SK Liepājas Metalurgs , for which he was active in the Latvian U18 league. He then moved to Switzerland, where he played a total of five years at EHC Biel, mainly in the junior division. In the 2015/16 season he was used once in the first men's team in the playouts of the National League A against the SCL Tigers . In the Elite Jr.A , in which he played with the U20 of EHC Biel, he was the top scorer in 2017. He then moved on loan to HC Ajoie , an official partner of the EHC Biel, in the National League B . In early 2018 he was loaned to Sion HC , with whom he won the main round of the MySports League .

In May 2018 he received a two-year contract with EHC Kloten , who had previously been relegated from the National League.

International

In the junior division, Krakauskas stood for Lithuania at the U18 World Championships in 2013 in Division II and in 2015 in Division I as well as in the U20 World Championships in 2015 , 2016 and 2017 , when, as the best striker, top scorer and top scorer, he was instrumental in promoting the Balts to the division I contributed, each in Division II on the ice.

He made his debut in the men's national team at the 2016 World Cup in Division I, where he also played in 2017 and 2018 . He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 and the Baltic Cup 2016.
