Marco Truttmann (born February 27, 1985 in Schwyz ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who has been playing for EHC Kloten in the Swiss League since November 2019 .
Career
Marco Truttmann began his career as an ice hockey player at EHC Seewen, where he practically went through the entire youth department. As a junior, he then moved to EV Zug , for whose professional team he made his debut in the National League A in the 2003/04 season , where he remained pointless in three games. Parallel to his time at EV Zug, the attacker played for HC Ajoie and EHC Olten in the National League B from 2003 to 2005 .
In the summer of 2005 he moved to third division HC Thurgau , with whom he was promoted to the NLB straight away. For his new club he was on the ice in the NLB until 2008. The Swiss player also played a number of games for third division clubs SC Weinfelden and EHC Frauenfeld during this period . With the EHC Biel , where he finished the 2006/07 season, Truttmann was NLB champion. After he finished the 2007/08 season again in Biel, with which he was NLB champion as in the previous year and also achieved promotion to the NLA, he was obliged by this. For the promoted team he scored a total of 24 scorer points in 44 games in the 2008/09 season , including nine goals.
After Truttmann was unable to assert himself with his new employer, the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers , also due to a protracted injury, he switched back to EHC Biel after a year. The following season 2012/13 the striker spent at EHC Olten in the National League B and finished the season as the best scorer in qualification with 84 scorer points in 50 games and thus finished first ahead of Ajoie's James Desmarais , who also got 84 points . Truttmann was also named Striker of the Year in the second highest Swiss league.
In his first four seasons with EHCO, he collected a total of 270 scorer points in 217 games and was one of the best Swiss players in the second division. In December 2016, Truttmann received a new three-year contract with EHC Olten and was then one of the top earners in the Olten team. In the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons, he played only 41 of 116 competitive games due to injuries. In autumn 2019 he was initially no longer used due to a lack of services and in November 2019 Truttmann agreed with the EHCO to terminate the contract. A few weeks later, he received a short-term contract with EHC Kloten , which was later extended until the end of the 2019/20 season.
