Norbert Rokaly (born January 21, 1996 in Gheorgheni ) is a Romanian ice hockey player who plays for HSC Csíkszereda and has been in the multinational MOL league since 2013 . His younger brother Szilárd is also a Romanian international.

Career

Club

Norbert Rokaly, who belongs to the Hungarian-speaking Szekler minority in Romania , began his career in the youth department of HSC Csíkszereda , the traditional Szekler club, for which he played in both the Romanian and Hungarian U18 leagues. In the 2012/13 season he made his first appearances in the Romanian ice hockey league . In 2013/14 he was used for the first time in the multinational MOL league . In 2018 he and his team became Romanian champions and cup winners .

International

Rokaly plays internationally in contrast to other Szeklers who compete for Hungary , for his native Romania . He was already active internationally in the junior division: he made his debut at the U18 World Cup in 2013 in Division II, in which he also played in 2014 . In the U20 division, he played at the 2014 , 2015 and 2016 World Championships when he was the top scorer and best preparer and, together with his brother Szilárd, had the second best plus / minus balance of the tournament behind the Serbian Ivan Glavonjić and consequently also the best player of his Team was chosen, also in Division II.

Rokaly made his debut in the men's national team at the World Cup of Division I in 2016 , when he had to relegate to Division II with the Romanians. In the following year he was promoted to Division I.
