Arthenac is a French municipality with 345 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Jonzac and the canton of Jonzac ( Archiac until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called Arthenacais .

Arthenac is located about 82 kilometers north-northeast of Bordeaux . Neighboring municipalities of Arthenac are Archiac in the north, Saint-Eugène in the east, Brie-sous-Archiac in the south-east, Allas-Champagne in the south, Réaux sur Trèfle in the south-west and Sainte-Lheurine in the west and north-west.
