Brives-sur-Charente is a western French community with 233 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Jonzac and the canton Thénac (until 2015 Pons ). The inhabitants are called Brivois .

location

Brives-sur-Charente is located about 15 kilometers southeast of Saintes in the cultural landscape of the Saintonge on the Charente . Brives-sur-Charente is surrounded by the neighboring communities Chérac in the north, Salignac-sur-Charente in the east and northeast, Pérignac in the south and southeast and Montils in the west.
