Detlev Kraack

Detlev Kraack (born January 20, 1967 in Flensburg ) is a German historian . His father, Gerhard Kraack, was a teacher at the Goetheschule in Flensburg and a local historian .

After graduating from high school in Flensburg , he studied mathematics, classical philology and history in Berlin . In 1994 he received his doctorate from the University of Kiel with a study on the late Middle Ages . Since the habilitation at the TU Berlin with the work of nameless vice counts and disguised viceroys. Conflicting concepts of rulership and rulership practice under Friedrich I. Barbarossa In 2001 he was initially a private lecturer , is now an adjunct professor for medieval history and regional history at the TU Berlin and at the same time works as a senior teacher for Latin and history at the Gymnasium Schloss Plön . He is a board member of the Society for Schleswig-Holstein History and, since 2013, spokesman for the Working Group for Economic and Social History in Schleswig-Holstein .

His main research interests are Schleswig-Holstein regional history as well as the general history of the Middle Ages and the early modern period.
