Chevanceaux is a French commune with 1,044 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Charente-Maritime department . It belongs to the arrondissement Jonzac and the canton Les Trois Monts (until 2015: canton Montlieu-la-Garde ). The inhabitants are called Chevancelais .

Chevanceaux is about 55 kilometers north-northeast of Bordeaux . Chevanceaux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chantillac in the north and northwest, Bors (Canton de Charente-Sud) in the north, Boisbreteau in the north and northeast, Guizengeard in the east, Neuvicq in the south and southeast, Saint-Palais-de-Négrignac in the south, Pouillac in the south and south-west, Sainte-Colombe in the south-west and Chatenet in the west.
The National Route 10 runs through the municipality .
