Jonzac is a French municipality with 3432 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ; it is the administrative seat of the arrondissement of Jonzac . The city lies on the Seugne . Jonzac has a direct train connection to Bordeaux St. Jean .

Attractions
- The Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais church probably dates from the 10th century. In 2008 and 2009, numerous graves with stone coffins from the Merovingian era were uncovered on their forecourt .

In 1819 a stone meteorite weighing about 5 kilograms fell near Jonzac . It was classified as an achondrite of the eukrite type.
