Saint-Aigulin is a southwestern French community with 1,911 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Jonzac and the canton Les Trois Monts (until 2015: canton Montguyon ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Aigulinois .

location

Saint-Aigulin is the easternmost commune in the Charente-Maritime department. It is located in the south of the Saintonge on the river Dronne about 57 kilometers northwest of Bordeaux . Saint-Aigulin is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Boscamnant in the north and north-west, La Genétouze in the north, Médillac and Parcoul-Chenaud in the north-east, La Roche-Chalais in the east, La Barde in the south and Saint-Martin-de-Coux in the west and south-west .
