The Canton Pons is a French canton in the department of Charente-Maritime and in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It includes 39 parishes from the Jonzac arrondissement . As part of the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons, it was significantly expanded in spring 2015.

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Pons included the 19 municipalities of Avy , Belluire , Biron , Bougneau , Brives-sur-Charente , Chadenac , Coulonges , Échebrune , Fléac-sur-Seugne , Marignac , Mazerolles , Montils , Pons , Pérignac , Rouffiac , Saint-Léger , Saint-Seurin-de-Palenne , Saint-Sever-de-Saintonge and Salignac-sur-Charente . Its layout corresponded to an area of 238.63 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 1720.
